IP Mathematics - Singapore - 2026

Online IP Math Tuition in Singapore

The Math Guy's Mathematics programme specialises in students on the Integrated Programme pathway. School-level classes are organised by school and year, so students from different schools are not mixed. Classes are capped at six students in focused one-hour weekly lessons.

The direct answer

What Is IP Math Tuition?

IP Math tuition is mathematics support designed around the faster pace, greater depth and school-specific topic order used by Singapore's Integrated Programme schools. School-level classes are separated by school and year, so students from different schools are not mixed and tuition reinforces what school is teaching now.

A useful IP Math tutor should be able to do more than explain a topic clearly. The tutor should understand the student's current school sequence, inspect their working while the attempt is happening, and choose the next step from the gap that appears.

The teaching model

Why Are Classes Grouped by School?

Coverage is not enough. The topic, sequence and timing must align. An RI class contains RI students, while an MGS class contains MGS students; both schools are represented in the current schedule.

01

Same topic

Tuition addresses the mathematics currently being taught and assessed at school.

02

Same sequence

Students do not have to manage two competing orders of concepts and techniques.

03

Right time

Gaps are corrected while the topic is still active, before the next assessment.

Teaching experience

Who Leads the IP Math Programme?

The programme is led by an RI and RJC alumnus and NUS Economics graduate who made the Dean's List, with 12 years of mathematics tutoring experience across a wide range of student abilities.

Tutors teaching the school-level IP classes are former IP students. The JC tutor attended NYJC and specialises in teaching students on the IP pathway. This background provides relevant firsthand experience; teaching quality still depends on accurate diagnosis, clear explanation and adaptation to each student.

Common questions

IP Math Tuition FAQs

How is IP Math different from O-Level Math?

IP schools can move faster, go deeper and introduce topics in a different order from the standard Express syllabus. That makes the timing and level of a tuition class especially important.

Does The Math Guy follow each school's syllabus?

Yes. School-level classes are grouped by school and year, and students from different schools are not mixed in the same IP class. Before each class, students report what school is currently covering so the lesson can address the topic that is immediately relevant.

How many students are in each class?

Classes are capped at six students. Shared digital whiteboards allow the tutor to see each student's working during the lesson rather than waiting for a final answer.

Can a student join during the year?

Yes, subject to a suitable class and available space. WhatsApp the student's school and year and we will advise on the closest match.

Are there registration or material fees?

No. There is no separate registration or material fee. All material needed during lessons is provided.
